Development of a sensor-based workload assessment for an industrial exoskeleton.
Workers in industries such as construction and logistics are executing physically demanding jobs every day. Over time, these tasks put workers at a high risk of injury. To assess this risk, you will develop a wearable, sensor-based workload assessment tool.
Goal of the Thesis is to develop a first prototype of a sensor-based workload assessment tool. Based on an early concept, you will choose a suitable sensor, define the metrics that are suitable to assess workload, record data, develop the basic workload analysis software and test it.

- Have you ever used a fitness tracker to count your steps, or your smartphone and a heartrate sensor to monitor yourself while running? For this thesis you will develop something similar but for hard, physical labor.
- Develop the concept of work load assessments for our exoskeleton prototypes.
- Select (and tests) sensors for data acquisition.
- Implement data analysis and workload assessment into a software tool.
- Evaluate and test the assessment tool: in-house in a lab environment, and, if time allows also in the field together with one of our industry partners.
