In an interdisciplinary collaboration between the University Hospital Zurich (Neuro-intensive care unit (ICU) and Internal Medicine) and ETH Zurich (Product Development Group Zurich) a novel bedside measurement system for patients with cerebral hemorrhage shall be developed. The project is being carried out in close collaboration with clinically and scientifically active doctors at the University Hospital Zurich.

The tasks in this project include the elaboration of technical solutions for the separation of complex biological patient samples of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) taken from the external drainage system, spectrophotometric measurement of dissolved proteins, prototype development of a medical device and testing of the system with patient samples in the sense of a "proof-of-concept".
