Development of a mechanical exoskeleton for construction workers.
Workers in industries such as construction are executing physically demanding jobs every day. Over time, these tasks put workers at a high risk of injury. To mitigate these risks, we are developing wearable assistive exoskeletons that support and protect workers.

Goal of the Thesis is, further develop an existing, mechanical upper body exoskeleton that relieves the user when lifting and carrying loads up to 50kg. We have already tested initial prototypes in the lab and in the field together with industry partners. The Goal is now to incorporate the feedback, design and build an improved prototype, and test it in the lab and in the field.

- Develop a new design for an upper body exoskeleton
- Implement the design (CAD) and derive manufacturing documents for our workshop.
- Assemble the prototypes once the parts a finished.
- Evaluate and test the new prototype: in-house in a lab environment, and, if time allows also in the field together with one of our industry partners.

- Engineering background.
- Strong technical skillset, especially mechanical design.
- Ideally some experience building and testing prototypes. If you did a student project, built or modified any technical system in your spare time, feel free to include a picture or description together with your documents.
