M3 Rowing Simulator: Improvement of Oar-Virtual Water Interaction
We test different forms of training and feedback strategies within the field of rowing. To
realize this, realisticity of the rendered task in a simulated environment plays an important role. Thus, we implemented a new mathematical model for simulating a virtual water - oar blade interaction forces.

Complete thesis/workload will consist of a literature review, modeling and simulation in the Simulink
environment and actual tests on the rowing simulator:
- Overview of existing methods and literature to implement oar-water interaction on a simulator.
- Verification and simulation of already implemented model on Simulink.
- Development of control methods for smooth transition of forces from air to water medium.
- Adjustment of force coefficients for fine tuning of Drag and Lift forces of oar (Simulation & Test)
