Master's Thesis BMW: Control of a bidirectional DC/DC converter for Highly-Available Automotive Energy Systems for Driverless Electric Vehicles
This contribution should realize an optimized control concept for a 400/12V Phase-Shift DC/DC converter. The starting point is a switching Plexim PLECS model.
Keywords: control, DC/DC converter, dual active bridge, phase-shift
Dynamic and safety-relevant electrical components in automotive energy systems increase the functional requirements to the energy and power supply. A reduced availability of energy or power within energy systems of self-driving vehicles is particularly safety-critical.
Elevated power peaks could damage electrical components, reduce their performance, lead to malfunctions or impair the energy systems stability.
One central component of the energy system is the 400/12V DC/DC converter. Its task is the low-loss energy and power transfer between high-voltage energy system (powertrain, battery storage) and low-voltage energy system (steering, brake, etc.). Power peaks caused by 12V-components need to be balanced through the converter quickly. This contribution should realize an optimized control concept for a 400/12V Phase-Shift DC/DC converter. The starting point is a switching Plexim PLECS model.
