Risk assessment of nanomaterials
Engineered Nanomaterials (ENM) are contained in many commercial products. During various stages of the life cycle of a product, ENM can be released into the environment. The aim of this work is to investigate release, flows and risks of ENM in the environment, based on a life-cycle perspective.
This project has several subprojects which require different skills, e.g. for some subprojects experience in practical lab work is required, for others not. Within this project several aspects can be investigated:
- Exposure modeling of ENM in the environment
- Experimental studies about release of ENM from materials, e.g. paints or textiles
- Modeling effects and risks of ENM
- Life cycle assessment (LCA) of nanoproducts

Provide data and models that allow to inform regulators, industry and scientists about chances and risks of ENM.
